Yakima has a thriving underground culture for drag shows. I have been to several of them and have been going to drag shows since the late 2000 and “aughts”. For some living here, drag is a way of life, a community that has become a family of sorts. The Seasons Performance Hall is bringing a drag celebrity that might make some of us drag show fans do a giddy scream (and perhaps a fashionable giggle). Apoca Lips is bringing a drag show celeb that fans may recognize from DRAGULA, hosted by Yakima's drag sensation, Tatiana Rexia.

If you aren't familiar with Bitter Betty, she was a contestant on Season 4 of RuPaul's Drag Race spinoff, The Boulet Brothers' DRAGULA. She also is the burgeoning entrepreneur behind the 1800wigtakeout wig shop. Turning lemons into sweet lemonade is how Bitter Betty became famous. Her performances are so intriguing that she gets booked for drag shows all over America.

The 18+ drag show, hosted by local Yakima drag celebrity Tatiana Rexia, will be held at The Seasons this Friday, August 11th.

The show starts at 7 p.m. and goes until midnight. Other performers slated to appear include Nikita Romanoff, Kaleena Markos, and the Seattle indie band La Fonda.
