Safeway Worker Pays It Forward, Pays for Disabled Woman’s Bill

This is probably the best thing you'll read all day. I know it was mine. An elderly disabled woman was short on her grocery tab and an unlikely hero stepped up and paid her bill. Who was the unlikely hero?

According to a story I read on KEPR News' Facebook page, the hero was Richland Safeway's Assistant Manager "Cheryl." The shopper, Virginia Anderton, who frequently visits the Safeway store on George Washington Way in Richland, came up $23 short for her groceries on Wednesday and without a blink, "Cheryl" stepped up and covered the tab. Needless to say, Ms. Anderton was deeply moved by this random act of kindness ... and so am I. Way to go, Cheryl! Everyone needs to feel like people/strangers really care!
