I recently stumbled upon a culinary adventure of Seattle's best-kept restaurant secrets. I'm not a vegan yet even I fell in love with them. You're in for a treat because you won't be eating on the beaten path of Seattle tourist traps.

Being inside these two places feels exclusive — very unrushed, very mindful, very demure.

Two Hidden Seattle Flavor Finds Outside the Tourist Traps

A couple of months ago, a dear friend of mine, whom I hadn't seen in over 25 years was visiting Seattle for the day, so I drove up to see her. She brought along a friend and colleague of hers who was in town to present a showing of his latest film documentary.

They asked me to meet them for lunch at a vegan restaurant near downtown, Kati Vegan Thai, and after that, they asked me to take them to Joe & the Juice for a shot of juice. (I had no idea that was even a thing, but when in Rome Seattle...)

After getting the address of the vegan place they wanted me to meet them at, I hopped in my car and jetted over to the South Lake Union neighborhood, where we found Kati Vegan Thai.

I ordered a simple plate of pad Thai noodles with a side of peanut sauce at Kati Vegan Thai, and the sauce was so good, I didn't even care that I wasn't eating any meat or tofu with it.

After a scrumptious meal, they asked me to drive us to Joe & The Juice at Amazon Headquarters. It's located near the Amazon Spheres.

It was here that I was invited to discover the joy of spicy turmeric and ginger shot (that made my throat either open up or close; I couldn't tell which). I'm not sure of any real benefits from the juice, but I did feel 90% instantly healthier just drinking it (after my coughing fit, ha).

Monday - Friday: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Joe & The Juice and Kati Vegan Thai are among Seattle's best-kept restaurant secrets beyond the tourist traps. You'll fall in love with them even if you aren't vegan!

I feel like these are two places only the locals know about, so the next time you're in Seattle trying to figure out a new place to eat, why not give them a try. Send me a message and let me know what you think of them!
