I stopped by the Maryhill Museum of Art on my honeymoon back in 2011 because I had never been there. I thought it was a cool place to explore and I enjoyed going inside the facility. The museum shuts down for the season on Nov. 15, but it still has several great family events to attend before then.

Not everyone is an art connoisseur. While I enjoy art and did visit the Picasso Museum and The Louvre when my wife and I went on vacation to Paris back in 2000 it's not something I typically do. Not because I don't enjoy it, it's just that I have other things on my agenda...

Last week, Yakima's gem, The Seasons Performance Hall, announced the upcoming departure of Director Ellie Strosahl.  While Ms. Strosahl deserves much credit for developing a burgeoning venue and her shoes will be hard to fill, it also presents an excellent opportunity for whomever is deemed fit to take the reins and build upon the tradition that has been put into motion.

Etch-A-Sketches are one of those childhood toys that never go out of style. If you're like most people, a few hours' worth of entertainment usually produced some pretty bad art, although it never really mattered. But there are the select few who are really good at Etch-A-Sketching. Like, really really good.

Inspired by the movie 'Monsters University,' DeviantArt user Hyung86 decided to portray classic Disney characters as though they were modern day college students. We think these are pretty great. If you'd like to check out more, this is the page where you can find modern depictions of Aladdin, Pocahontas, Ariel and more.

This makes a lot of sense -- it's a sculpture of Honey Boo Boo, made out of 25 pounds of garbage. We see some I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, and a box of spaghetti. Looks like maybe some Snuggie packaging is in there too. Here's an idea for a fun game -- find out how many pieces of Honey Boo Boo garbage you have in your kitchen cabinet right now, and then feel bad accordingly. Thanks, art! Read
