Every spring officials with the Naches Ranger District in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest Service hire seasonal employees who need places to live.

The fire was reported Tuesday at about 9:30 pm in the 600 block of North 20th Avenue and even threatened other homes in the neighborhood.

The home and everything inside were lost to the flames.

Firefighters responded at about 3:10AM to the home in the 200 block of North 30th Avenue.

On Monday the fire was estimated at 67,534 acres. Today the blaze is 68,193 acres still at 3 percent containment.

The fire, which is now burning about a quarter of a mile from the Nile and about a mile from Highway 410 grew is a whopping 56,422 acres with no containment.

While firefighter were mopping up up the fire. They found a kitten and returned her to her family.
