Chief Greg Cobb says before the police chase law was changed the department saw an average of 3 chases each year.

Now the city of Union Gap is having the same problems.

Every Tuesday is Traffic Tuesday when the Yakima Police Department posts numbers of the week of traffic enforcement.

During the week of February 5 through February 11 Officers investigated 26 different collisions.

During the past 6 months police have made more than 4,000 traffic stops and issued more than 2,000 citations.

Department officials say there's really no end to the emphasis patrols that continue into the new year.

Police say drivers are increasingly refusing to stop for law enforcement.
