Here’s Why California’s Oldest Town Had Over 28 Million Visitors Last Year
According to one report, last year in 2022, California's oldest city brought in over $22 billion, with a capital B, dollars in TOURISM alone. Is it because people are wrapped up in learning about history or were there other delights that beckoned all the tourists? And do you know what is the oldest city in California?
CALIFORNIA'S OLDEST CITY
In 1769, some Europeans decided to stake their claims in Old Town San Diego, thus making this city the oldest settled town in California.
VISIT SAN DIEGO
San Diego is the backdrop for famous movies like Anchorman (and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues), Bring It On, Demolition Man, Little NikIta, The Saint, Top Gun (and Top Gun: Maverick), and even old obscure classics like Jerry Lee Lewis' The Big Mouth.
Visitors to San Diego enjoy the historical landmarks, major league sports teams, the gorgeous beaches, golfing, surfing, the delicious cuisine, the zoo, and I'll throw in SeaWorld for good measure.
One of the biggest draws to San Diego every year is Comic Con. (RIP STAN LEE!)
Legoland opened in San Diego back in 1999, and some 15 million people visited there last year in 2022.
(Other) FUN THINGS TO DO IN SAN DIEGO

Visit Old Town
Humphrey's Concerts by the Bay
Mission Beach
Gaslamp Quarter
Daytrip to Tijuana, Mexico
Get on a pedicab
