Believe it or not, my wife and I haven't been on a dinner date in probably two years. Sure, we'll go out to lunch when the kids are in school or we've gone out at night with friends, but the last time it was just the two of us was a long, long time ago. To commemorate this event, we hit Black Angus and they had a soup that you just have to try.

Now I don't know about you, but when I go to Black Angus, I'm not going there for the salad. I don't just want meat. I want meat on meat with meat on the side. I have heard several people suggest the loaded baked potato soup but, as much as I like soup, given the option, I'd probably opt for something else. This day, however, my wife suggested I get it as one of my sides so we can both try it and we can both share whatever we ordered. I'm cool with that.

When it came to the table, it did look fantastic. Think creamy potato soup with bacon and sour cream and chives. It was absolutely fantastic, to say the least.

It was the perfect amount. Just enough to enjoy and move on to the rest of your food, but after finishing the bowl (my wife had one taste, I ate the rest) I finally was able to see what all the hype was about.

So, if you're too busy trying to decide which two sides to get on your entree, or just there for a quick lunch, consider the loaded baked potato soup at Black Angus.
