Oh no! Say it ain't so! We don't want to sound a false alarm, because everything may just turn out dandy, but, the Garth Brooks Stadium Show at Lumen Field, the Home of the Seahawks in Seattle, may not be happening.

We got word today from the Garth Brooks team, that tickets will NOT be going on sale this Friday, August 6th at 10 AM as planned.

The Official Press Release from Team Garth Brooks About Seattle Show

Here's the brief Press Release, in its entirety, personally approved by Garth:

LOS ANGELES- August 3rd, 2021- The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour is scheduled to play Kansas City, Missouri on August 7th and Lincoln, Nebraska on August 14th. Following Nebraska, the Garth Brooks Stadium Tour will have a three-week window without a concert scheduled in which the tour will assess where the remainder of the dates this year stand due to the resurgence of the covid virus.

Although Seattle is the first city back after that three weeks, we still don't know what is going to happen to concerts at this point...therefore, until we are sure we can play the date, we will not be going forward with Seattle on sale.

"It breaks my heart to see city after city go on sale and then have to ask those sweet people and the venues to reschedule," said Garth Brooks.  "We have a three-week window coming up where we, as a group, will assess the remainder of the stadium tour this year. It's humbling to see people put this much faith in you as an artist, and it kills me to think I am letting them down."

What Will The Garth Brooks Announcement Mean For Other Artists Planned Shows?

So, we could still see things move forward after those three weeks. Time will tell. One thing I'm wondering, having just seen a sea of humanity gather for three days at Watershed, could a surge in infections begin to emerge for events like that? Is this what Garth's folks and public health officials will be watching for? Could the move by Garth Brooks not only be the correct one but also serve as an inspiration to other promoters and artists alike, to, at the very least, pump the breaks a little bit, while COVID's effects are still being felt?
