Yakima Drivers Time to Use 4-Way Stop Rule Wednesday

Have you noticed all the road and signal work this summer in Yakima?

More road and signal work continues in the Yakima this week that could slow you down if you're driving in the city. Yakima city officials say they'll be upgrading a traffic signal Wednesday, July 27 at the intersection of Yakima Avenue and Front Street.

Crews will be working on the signal that won't be working on Wednesday

Crews will be working to upgrade the signal at the intersection and no doubt the work will slow traffic. The work happens from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm this Wednesday. During the work you'll have to use the 4-way stop rule because the signal won't be working at the intersection of Yakima Avenue and Front Street during the morning commute. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction with stop signs at the 4-way stop.

Have you noticed the difference in the upgraded LED lights?

This is one in a series of traffic signal upgrades the City is planning for intersections along Yakima Avenue this summer. The improvements include upgrading to larger, more efficient 12-inch LED signal heads. More than 11 signals located throughout the city are being upgraded this summer.

Drivers are reminded the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the city of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.
