The other day, my wife and I travel to Tacoma (yes, on purpose) to visit a couple of her friends that were moving away. They suggested we eat at this Korean barbecue place that offered all-you-can-eat for $25. I'm down to try anything -- and so glad I did.

This particular place was called something generic like Palace BBQ and looking them up in my maps for directions they had a few locations -- one in Lakewood (just south of Tacoma) one in Federal Way and one in Bellevue.

Joy Garden in Yakima has had these style tables with the hot plate in the middle, but they just kept bringing more and more food to us and whatever we wanted. It was heaven.

There were several meat options from spicy pork to short ribs to shrimp, and they even had stuff like baby octopus and intestines. I've had octopus but never intestines. It was very chewy. Not bad, but not great. Makes another food I can check off of my list, I suppose.

We were probably there for an hour to an hour and a half, just hanging out and chatting and eating. We all definitely got our fill and, to me, the experience was worth the $25. Not something I would do every day, but for special occasion events, this was the perfect choice.

We have a few buffets, but I would love to see something like this come to Yakima.
