When I was growing up it seemed like everyone wore green on St. Patrick's Day whether they had any Irish heritage in them or not. Recently, though, I've had people tell me, "I didn't know you were Irish," when I'm not, but still wear green out of tradition. Am I alone on this?

I will say that some have become more polite. Maybe it's because I'm 6'5 but I've had people actually ask me if they could pinch me in lieu of not wearing green. Growing up, I'd get pinched, and hard, by complete strangers. Maybe there's an anti-bullying theory on that, I'm not sure.

But what about you? Do you still wear green to celebrate, Irish or not? Or do you not wear green and 'play along' because you're not Irish? Let me know in the comments. I'm very curious on this.
