I have a few old boxes of cereal from my youth. One of them was one that was very memorable to me -- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Cereal. It came out in 1989 during the height of its popularity. Let's see if it holds up! (Spoiler alert: it doesn't)

Upon opening this box, I first had to check it for weevils. They love getting into old cereal like this. Fortunately, I lucked out. As soon as I opened the plastic bag, I got a whiff of what I was about to get myself into. I had already committed myself to taking a bite The air that wafted out of the box was pure sin. It wasn't good.

I've eaten old cereal before, but this was the first I tried that had old marshmallows. I thought they'd be stale and no problem, but this time around they turned out to be the biggest problem. I'm not sure what type of chemical process happens in 25 years of marinating in a box of stale Rice Chex, but it's not good. It's a flavor I can only describe as edible death.

Still, it was fun to go down memory lane with one of my favorite breakfast cereals of all time.
