Firefighters Urging People to Attend Public July 4 Displays

Wildfire is a big concern for area firefighters as we approach the Fourth of July. Fireworks are banned in many cities including the city of Yakima and in the unincorporated areas of Yakima County. Yakima Fire Department Capt. Jeff Pfaff says it's a good reason to attend a large public display like the Fourth of July event at State Fair Park this year.
Fireworks are allowed under certain restrictions in Granger, Harrah, Mabton, Moxee and Zillah. Fireworks are banned in the cities of Yakima, Selah and Sunnyside.
