Food for Thought Poker Run Raises $1,000 for Charity
It was a grand day -- and we've got a cool grand to prove it.
Riders who took part in Saturday's Food for Thought poker run helped raise more than $1,000 for 10 Deeds in 10 days, the Bill Harris Used Cars/Townsquare Media charity campaign. The drive helps gather food and raise funds for local charities -- including the Selah Food Bank, Yakima Valley Veterans Center, Rod’s House and the YWCA.
Saturday's ride drew about 120 participants, who had perfect early-fall weather for an easy run to a handful of destinations around the Yakima area. A raffle and chili feed -- featuring some tasty eats from Evie's Catering -- wrapped it up.
BHUC and 94.5 KATS sponsored the ride. Here's a look at some of the fun from the event's epicenter, Owens Cycles.
