It never feels real until it's right up in your face. Cancer comes in so many forms and touches so many lives. The latest to fight the good fight is a long time radio listener and friend of the Yakima Valley, Lori Salgado.

Stage four cancer isn't a joke, she has been through chemo and radiation, gone through many different hairstyles and the attitudes to go with them. She has handled herself with dignity and grace, even when she really wants to punch cancer in the face.

Currently recovering at home after a huge surgery Lori is working on pain management while I write this update.

If you are able to help with her fight, she truly is in need.

"Lori was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. While she was preparing for part of her Colon to be removed she was told the cancer had metastasized to her Liver and Lympnodes. She had surgery August 12, 2019 to remove part of her Colon and the lymphnodes that had cancer and is now dealing with the Liver. Lori has had numerous 15-16 rounds of Chemo treatments and has recently left her job because she is no longer well enough to work. On May 20th she had her liver Resection surgery and is currently at home resting. Then she will start 3 months of clean up chemo. Lori's husband is working endless hours to try and provide for their 2 sons and a daughter. Please donate to help relieve the burden that cancer is bringing to Lori and her family. Lori has been a fighter since day one. She always has a smile on her face and no matter how she is feeling she still puts other before herself. So with this being said as a friend to Lori I ask that we all come forward to show our support and help Lori with anything possible to help with Medical bill's, Mortgage, travel expenses to and from Seattle Swedish, food and any other bill's she may have. 2020 has definitely been tough for all of us. We are living in tough times and this shall pass but in the meantime please pray for Lori and her family and donate. Today for her and tomorrow for us.

This Saturday, May 30th, 2020 there will be a carwash to help raise funds from 12 pm - 5 pm at Cemetery Tim’ place located at 3510 W Nob Hill Blvd Yakima. Come one come all and if you get the chance to help spread the word. Please do so. We love you very much Lori and are rooting for full remission.
