If you are a health care provider in Yakima County Yakima Health District officials urge you to get the COVID-19 vaccination as soon as possible. The Washington State Department of Health says at least 150,000 healthcare providers haven't yet received the vaccine. A press release from the district says healthcare workers can continue to get the vaccine in the next phases of distribution but they encourage the workers to get the vaccine now to avoid wait times and higher demands for appointments once the vaccine is available to the general public.

Health officials say lots of people want answers. They say the district and many healthcare providers in the community get dozens of calls every day from people waiting to get the vaccine. Because of that district officials "ask that all Phase A healthcare providers do not delay in scheduling their COVID-19 vaccine so they can fill out Phase A as soon as possible.

Healthcare providers who have not received a COVID-19 vaccine, may sign up for an appointment by visiting the Yakima Health District’s COVID-19 Vaccine webpage. The Yakima Health District is updating this website daily based upon providers vaccine allocations.  Providers who have questions about the vaccine may also check out CDC’s COVID-19 Vaccine webpage for more information about the vaccine."

No specific date has been given as to when the vaccine will be available to those over 50 who live in multi generational households and those over 70-years-old. But officials do say they expect to move into the next Phase to begin mass vaccinations in mid to late February in Yakima county.
