ARE THERE RULES ON WHO CAN CARRY AND THE TYPE OF SPRAY?

You must be 18-years-old to carry the spray under RCW 9.91.160. However According to the website Stunster.com, those who are 14-years-old and above can carry pepper spray with parental consent. The actual type of spray is also regulated. The only kind of pepper spray allowed is CS tear gas in the form of aerosol and it's limited to 2 fluid ounces.

THE SPRAY ISN'T SOMETHING YOU CAN USE AS A PRANK AND DON'T TAKE THE SPRAY TO SCHOOL

State officials say the spray must be used strictly for self-defense. But just like Gun Free zones in the state pepper spray is banned from schools and other educational establishments. Doubtful if you can carry pepper spray in courthouses or legislative offices or chambers in Olympia. Officials at the website Stunster.com say make sure you check with your local court or simply watch for signs. Private property owners also have the right to restrict possession or pepper spray use.

If you are a convicted felon you are not allowed to carry the spray in Seattle or any other place in Washington State.
