Well, a few weeks ago I was just saying to someone that while 2020 has been a terrible year in so many ways, at least we weren't battling wildfires to a great extent in our region. What a difference a couple of weeks makes. The Evans Canyon Fire continues to rage on today, just days after starting. As of about 3 pm Friday afternoon, it is said to have burned nearly 70,000 acres and is growing - with only an estimated 10% containment.

Horace Ward, Operations Manager for the Yakima Valley Emergency Management put out a press release this afternoon, alerting interested media and citizens alike, about a Virtual Meeting to take place at 5 pm today.

You are invited to attend a virtual community meeting for the Evans Canyon Fire tonight at 5pm which will be hosted by Pacific Northwest Team 12 and Yakima Valley Emergency Management on the Southeast Washington Interagency Management Team Facebook Page.
