Seahawks mania in these parts can be a little over the top. On top of all the Seahawks logoed cars I've seen (some professionally done, some done by hand with spray paint) there is the "Sea-Fence" house, the giant "12" erected in PVC piping alongside Hwy 82 near Prosser and many other displays of fan pride...
The 10 Deeds in 10 Days Celebrity Auction kicked off this morning (Oct. 3) at 6 and runs until 7 p.m. Friday (Oct. 7). One of the items up for bid is the Thomas Rawls Seahawks signed collectible football pictured above. Also available are:
An ESP guitar signed by all the current members of Trans-Siberian Orchestra
A Toby Keith "Clancy's Tavern" gold certificate
A framed and autographed
I went to the first NFL game in Los Angeles in 22 years. As a Rams fan I just couldn't miss it and now I have a memory that will last forever. I was surrounded by Seahawks fans who bought tickets on resale websites and were commenting on how expensive everything in L...
Last week I shared with you a badass Seahawk-logoed car. In another blog I did back in March I pointed out that it's nearly impossible to go more than a couple of hundred yards in any direction and not see a "12" of some kind (homemade or otherwise) in Yakima...
Todd and I went to the Seattle Seahawks training camp on Tuesday along with about 1,500 fans. Then there is this kid, who is obviously a very dedicated Richard Sherman fan. If we're to believe his sign, he traveled (converting metric to the English system for you) 3,682 miles which means he's either from the most northern reaches of Canada or San Jose, Costa Rica...
I've never attended an NFL training camp... until yesterday. With about 1500 fans in attendance Todd and I got to interview and rub elbows with Seahawks players and coaching staff. The toughest part about being in the media is you have to curb your natural tendency to be a fan boy and geek out but I was definitely doing that on the inside...
In a blog I wrote on March 12th I talked about many of the homemade displays of Seahawks "12" logos you'll find throughout the Yakima Valley. Ironically Todd and I just drove back yesterday afternoon after a day at the Seattle Seahawks training camp at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in Renton when, just before we turn into the Townsquare Media parking lot, we spot this car proudly pe
I love Google Earth. It really is so much fun to go to different places in the world and dream you could go there just by the way it looks from Google Earth. Little did I know that the shape of a couple of blocks in our very own neighborhood in Yakima would be a '12' for the 12th Man Seahawks fan!
Having spent significant time in Seattle and living here I've come to a conclusion... there are more Seahawks fans in Yakima per capita than there are in Seattle. Fans here are so crazy they can't seem to find enough cool merchandise with logos that they have to make their own...
