Memorial Day is coming up and as we honor our men and women who sacrificed themselves for our country, WalletHub lists the best and worst states to retire in if you're a vet. Fortunately, Washington ranks pretty high on the list.

Washington state is ranked 15th on a list of every state.

The best places to retire, in order, are Florida, New Hampshire, Wyoming, South Carolina and Alaska.

The worst places are North Carolina, Rhode Island, New Jersey and finally Washington, D.C.

Also interesting to see our friends in Oregon have it rough if you're a retired vet. They have one of the highest percentages of homeless and fewest job opportunities for vets. We need to get that number up so we look good here in the Northwest.
