The National Weather Service in Pendleton, OR has issued a Flood Warning for the Naches River in Washington State affecting Yakima County. The warning specifically is for the Naches River...including Cliffdell, Naches where minor flooding is forecast.

How Long is the Flood Warning in Effect?

This flood warning went into effect on Monday, February 28th, 2022, and is in effect until Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022 at 5:11 AM. Conditions can change rapidly and any potentially affected persons should continue to monitor the situation.

What is the Flood Stage Level of The Naches River?

According to the National Weather Service:

At 1:30 PM PST Monday the stage was 28.0 feet. Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage late tomorrow morning to 31.1 feet tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow evening to 29.9 feet and begin rising again late Friday morning. It will rise to 30.6 feet early Saturday morning. It will then fall again and remain below the flood stage. Flood stage is 31.0 feet. Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 31.4 feet on 02/04/2020.

Caution to Motorists Encountering Flooded Areas

It should go without saying, but, NOAA warns:

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
