Yakima Driver Alert; Englewood Avenue Road Work Tuesday
Road and signal improvements continue in the city of Yakima this summer as crews do their best to not impact traffic to slow your commute. But if your commute takes you down Englewood avenue you may have to find another way to work or wherever you are going on Tuesday, July 12. City crews Tuesday are closing a section of Englewood Avenue so crews from the Yakima Tieton Irrigation District can repair an irrigation main.
The project happens from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
The project on Englewood Avenue just west of North 40th Avenue starts at 8:00 am and lasts until 4:00 pm. During the work traffic control will be set up for the road closure for Englewood Avenue, with signs and detours in place for drivers. Because the work requires drivers to travel 20 mph through the work zone you may want to find yourself another way to wherever you are traveling in the city Tuesday.
Be careful as you drive through the work zones
"Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.
Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.
The repairs may cause interruptions in scheduled refuse collection. Contact the City of Yakima Refuse Division at 509-575-6005 for more information.
As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies."
