Yakima’s Coziest Places to Visit This Fall (and Winter, too)
Cozy Autumn Vibes Arrive In The Yakima Valley
Have you felt it yet? That crisp chill in the air which means it's the arrival of Fall in the Yakima Valley. The leaves were changing colors before the month of August was out, and we've had several chilly mornings over the past week or two.
Sweater Weather always makes me want to cozy up inside and find a quiet place to reflect.
The Farmers' Almanac is already predicting that we're going to have a cold autumn season and some rough and snowy winter this year, so it's a great idea to start thinking of where you'll want to go to escape the frigid air.
Rediscovering Cozy Work and Chill Spots Nearby
I used to love visiting the rocks sections at museums when I was a kid on field trips, so seeing them at the one little spot downstairs in the Yakima Valley Museum kind of takes me back to a cozier time in my life before I had a bunch of bills and began raising a child! I could spend at least an hour oohing and ahhing in that one cozy spot alone.

My go-to place for comfy and cozy in the Yakima Valley used to be Barnes and Nobles bookstore by the mall in Union Gap, but it closed over a decade ago. To this day, I am pretty devastated it's no longer there, but thankfully, I've discovered that Inklings and Encore Books share the same 'coffee & books' cozy vibes that I felt at B&N.
Each of these hidden gem spots below also have comfy-cozy written all over them. Maybe I'll see you in there one day this Fall or Winter.
With chilly autumn days and a snowy winter ahead, nothing beats escaping to a warm, welcoming local spot. Tag a friend who needs a cozy getaway and drop the name of your favorite spot to get cozy in the comments.
