It's called Safe Yakima Valley. The group is focused on prevention and helping local families with tools, education and activities to help kids make healthy positive choices for success. Many local kids are getting personal attention through the Safe Yakima Valley Youth Mentoring Program.

YOU CAN BECOME A MENTOR TODAY

Do you have any extra time to give to a child in Yakima? The Safe Yakima Valley Youth Mentoring Program matches caring adults with elevated-risk kids ages 11-17 in Yakima County who have been adversely impacted by opioids. Information from the Safe Yakima Valley website says;
"Positive youth development research has long demonstrated that elevated-risk youth benefit from mentoring. Mentoring provides youth with mentors who can provide support, guidance, and opportunities to help youth meet their goals and succeed in life!
Change a child's life by volunteering as a mentor!
We are always looking for caring and responsible mentors.  For only 4 hours a month, you can be a positive influence in a youth's life."
