Barreled Surf Park Needs Our Help! Write a Letter by June 7th

Have you ever attempted surfing before? It's an incredible feeling that I hope to someday accomplish, I have yet to be able to pick myself up while catching a wave but that could change in the coming years if everything goes to plan!

Barreled Surf Park is a current dream of Joey Lawerence's. He was introduced to our valley while going to school with the owners of Bale Breakers and has since fallen in love with this place and is asking for our help in making his dream of a surf park that's accessible to the masses right here in Moxee, WA.

Listen to the interview because he has all his ducks in a row. They've picked the land, partnered with the farm adjacent to said land. Figured out how to use no more water than what is ALREADY being used and more. There's push-back from some and an upcoming news conference could be held so I felt it was important to get the word out to those that are ready to see new and exciting things happen in our valley.

A lot of the PNW loves going on vacation in Hawaii, where surfing lessons are part of the adventure but imagine learning how to surf during the summer months right here in Moxee, and then when you hit the islands, you're just renting a board and testing out what you've been learning.

The priority is sustainability, utilizing what is already available. On top of that, this could bring surfers from all over the World. Big picture, there could be parks ALL over the place in the coming years and WE could be a part of the circuit! The park would run from April through October of each year and currently, you can keep up to date with the happenings by following them on social media @surfbarreled. The website is ALMOST finished.

To help create buzz and show Yakima County this is something that the community really wants, Barreled Surf Park would LOVE to have you write a letter explaining why this project excites you by Monday, June 7th, 2021. The park won't be ready until 2024 but big changes take time. Become part of the process.
