From Monroe High School to the Top of Global Charts: The WA State Roots of Benson Boone
Global sensation and alt-rock star Benson Boone is known for his outlandish costumes, high voltage energy, and for having great hair and what I think is a great moustache (ha). But did you know that this multi-talented singer/musician hails from a tiny town in Washington State?
From Monroe, WA to the Top of the Music Charts
These days, Benson Boone calls Los Angeles home, but he can never forget his hometown Monroe, Washington, roots. He played tennis and was on the diving team in high school according to the Everrett Herald.
During critique of his audition for American Idol, Katy Perry said, "They’re gonna swoon over Benson Boone." Boone began posting some TikTok videos and was taken under the wing of Dan from Imagine Dragons.
This led to him being offered a contract from Night Street Records/Warner Records. After he was asked to open for the Imagine Dragons and Taylor Swift, the rest, as they say, is music history.
Benson's first big hit was Ghost Town.
