Breaking Up Is Hard Enough But Has Texting Become The New Goodbye?

We've all been there, the dreaded break up and the walk of shame but today's etiquette seems to dictate that a text message break up is acceptable.

Today's dating world is hard enough so when is it ok to break up via text message?

I have a friend who's recent story says it's okay to break up through text message after a one stand, even after casual dating, after a booty call, or during an ailing long distance relationship. I disagree - I think you still have to the goodbye face to face.

I pitch the question back to you...do you know when is it okay to break up via text? Have you ever been dumped via text? Have you ever broken up with somebody via text message, or do you just avoid that person all together?
