Most of the time it's hard for an artist to tell if a song will be a hit or fall on def ears, which is probably why CeeLo Green passed on Pharrell's chart-topping hit 'Happy.'

As we shared last week, the Neptunes producer penned the song for Green to sing -- the track later appeared on the 'Despicable Me 2' soundtrack. That's when Pharrell stepped in and recorded one of the most celebrated songs since, well, Ceelo's 2010 hit 'F--- You.' But that didn't leave the Goodie Mob member upset. In fact, he said he's thrilled the rap star is finally receiving the shine he deserves. He also says he has no regrets.

And what did he think when TMZ asked if he agreed with Pharrell's opinion that Ceelo's recorded version of 'Happy' being better than his? "I won't say that," said the raspy-voiced singer and rapper. "That's him being modest. I appreciate that. I respect that. He's a generous brother. I think karma is rewarding him because he was all prepared to give all that away. The fact that it's worked so immensely well for him is very gratifying for the both of us."
