Hangovers Are an Illness, According to Germans
I highly doubt that this will become such a milestone in the courts as Roe v. Wade, but only time will tell. Especially if the decision carries over to the U.S. Just days after Oktoberfest ended its beer festival in Munich, a German court has ruled that a hangover is technically an "illness."
According to a report from the BBC, a court in Frankfurt heard a case where a product firm was making illegal health claims dealing with its anti-hangover shots, drinks and powders. The court ruled that "Information about a food product cannot ascribe any properties for preventing, treating or healing a human illness or give the impression of such a property." The way this is worded, reading between the lines, according to the court in this company's decision, a hangover is an illness. So next time you call in work sick because you partied too much the night before, you are technically not lying, according to Germans.
And because it rocks, here's a song from The Offspring, The Worst Hangover Ever!
