Oregon, California and Washington State Truck Stops on the ‘Do Not Stop Here’ List

If you’ve ever traveled along the interstate on a long road trip, you’ve no doubt stopped to get some gas at a truck stop.

Truck drivers in Oregon, California, and Washington state have become aware of a “Do Not Stop” list that’s been floating around.

This list is to warn truck drivers that it is not safe to stop at these particular travel stop locations but the reason is not one that I would have expected.

We’ve seen truck drivers in the recent news for not wanting to deliver to certain states for political reasons (New York), but this new reason to avoid travel stops is shocking.

Recent crime waves have targeted specific travel stops in America, and ones in OR, WA, and CA are not immune.

Millions of dollars worth of merchandise and goods get stolen every year from truck drivers at truck stops!

These crimes involve stealing cargo from trucks, it also includes groups of thieves committing cyber crimes, extortion, and embezzlement against the cargo and truck drivers, too.

Organized crime mobs have been stealing cargo from semi trucks in the list below. It even has its own name, cargo theft.

WHAT ARE AUTHORITIES DOING TO COMBAT TRUCK STOP CARGO THEFT CRIMES?

Washington state created an Organized Retail Crime Unit to help combat these targeted attacks on truck drivers.

California Highway Patrol created a division unit task force called Operation Overloaded to prevent further robberies on truck drivers’ cargo.

Oregon has a Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program that includes a cargo theft user manual for FBI employees.
