Washington & Oregon Recall: Blueberries, Cottage Cheese
Not a good week when it comes to recalls here in the Pacific Northwest. We’ve already written about recalls involving frozen chicken fried rice and peanut butter, and now there are 2 more recalls of note: Blueberries and Cottage Cheese. Details below.
Blueberry Recall Issued For Washington & Oregon
Over 55,000 pounds of frozen blueberries from the Salem, Oregon-based company Oregon Potato Company (OPC) are being recalled due to possible listeria contamination.
The United States Food & Drug Administration originally initiated the recall on the 12th of February, but the recall was upgraded due to the probability of serious illness or even death.
The blueberries were sold in mass packages, with lot codes of:
- 3305 A1 (Expiration dates 11/25/2027)
- 3305 B1 (Expiration dates 11/25/2027)
- 2055 B2 (Expiration dates 7/24/2027)
- 2065 B1 (Expiration dates 7/24/2027)
- 2065 B3 (Expiration dates 7/23/2027)
These lots were not directly sold to consumers in retail stores; there is a concern about the resale market.
For details of Listeria illness, visit the USDA’s website. Details on what to do with possible contaminated food is below.
