Summer Safety Event’s A Blast In Prosser & Grandview!
Thursday, May 22nd, marked the annual Summer Safety Event put on by Prosser Memorial Health at their clinics in Prosser, Grandview, and Benton City.
It was a great opportunity to connect with the community, invite them for a fun get-together, and have an extra early kick-start to Summer before the unofficial Summer kick-off of Memorial Day Weekend.
Crowds were lined up for the event when it kicked off at 4 pm, offering Summer safety tips and education for families, arts, crafts, and bubbles for the kids, goodie bags, and because nothing says Summer than a barbecue, hot dogs, and drinks were available for free a for a nice afternoon snack or early dinner.

One of the big draws of The Prosser Memorial Health’s Summer Safety Events that went on up and down the Yakima Valley was free lifejackets for the youngsters.
It was interesting watching how emergency crews matched up the weight of the child with the correct size of the lifejacket. I always thought there were kid-sized and adult, but it’s a little more technical than that.

Columbia Basin Dive Rescue were on getting the little ones in the right size lifejackets as well as educating them and their families on how to properly wear it and important tips to help stay safe in the water this Summer.

It was great seeing the workers and volunteers come out and really show what the community is all about.
