Los Hernandez Tamales is expanding locations, sort of. You see, they just snagged an awesome deal that puts their (James Beard) award-winning food inside a location in Seattle, but it's not a stand-alone store!

The James Beard Award Winning Tamales That Put Union Gap on the Map

A few years back, Los Hernandez Tamales won a coveted spot in the James Beard Awards--the food industry's highest food honor that a local Washington chef, restauranteur, bar, or food writer can win.

Their unusual fusion of local Yakima Valley asparagus combined with the traditional Mexican tamale food staple has wowed customers far and wide. I remember a friend who lived on the west side of the mountains asking me to bring her a dozen of their tamales on my next visit. That was over a decade ago, before the award accolades came in!

Two New Locations Will Feature the Los Hernandez Tamales Famous Food

Pasta & Co will now carry some of the food from Los Hernandez, as Seattle Refined gleefully reported. I feel like they are just as excited about this news as me when I found out! The take-out specialty store restaurant prides itself in offering customers foods that uses the best of ingredients, namely those local to Washington State.

Fans of Los Hernandez Tamales can begin ordering food to go at both Pasta & Co locations including the Bellevue location (10218 NE 8th St) and at U-Village in Seattle (4622 26th Ave NE, across from the Williams-Sonoma store).

There are two stand-alone locations for Los Hernandez Tamales:

  • 3706 Main St in Union Gap (about 5 minutes outside of the city of Yakima)
  • 6411 W Nob Hill Blvd in Yakima (located in the West Valley neighborhood of Yakima)
