Yakima police officers on Tuesday were able to help a man who was at a local grocery store with his child asking for money. Police say they received numerous 9-1-1 calls asking police check on the man, who was holding the young child asking customers for money.

The officers arrived and found the man with his sleepy child saying times were tough and that he didn't have the money to buy groceries to feed his family of five.
The two officers then walked into the store with the man and purchased a shopping cart full of groceries for the man.
