Is a new speed limit the answer to solving one of Washington's most dangerous roads?

Local residents in one neighborhood seem to think it might help.

King5 News reported the intersection of this street in Renton is one of the most dangerous roads.

It's where SE 192nd Street and 140th Ave SE meet in Renton.

I've driven by there many times and had no idea it was such a danger!

Do you think speed limits should be reduced here?

There have been many accidents here, including a recent one that killed four people because a teenager was going over 100 miles per hour!

If people would just SLOW DOWN, then that might help prevent senseless accidents and unnecessary death.

You know, sometimes when I'm driving down I-90, I wish that the speed limit would be increased to 70 in certain areas, but after watching this newscast, I am second-guessing that wish.

Some cities have resorted to creating roundabouts to force drivers to slow their roll in particularly dangerous intersections. It might seem very annoying to crawl to a 20 mph pace in your car, but when you tally up all of the deadly car crashes that happen near those byways and highways, it seems like it might be a better solution.

Neighbors in the area have said they don't even think reducing the speed limit to 35 will help. That's so sad for them to even think such a thing!

County officials will weigh in on reducing the speed limit in the near future. Are there specific streets in your neighborhood that you wish would have the speed limit reduced?

I guess my message to us all is, SLOW DOWN!
