Yakama Nation Helps Students Get Packed Up for School

From pre-K all the way up to college, several programs within the tribe of the Yakama Nation were there Thursday (Aug. 15) to help students from the tribe get ready to go back to school. Colleges, Universities, and other programs were also on-site for the eighth annual Backpack Giveaway so students and parents could get information.

Everyone also enjoyed free hot dogs, kettle corn and games. Families got to watch a movie at the Heritage Theater. Being the DJ that I am, I provided music while everyone gathered in the shade.

Thanks to these programs from the Yakama Nation, including the Credit and Land Enterprise, the Yakama Nation Housing Authority and Yakamart for helping get the backpacks together for the students. The internet was provided by Yakama Nation Networks.
