Coats and Cold Weather Items Drive for Foster Children
Shout-out to the local community for always making it happen. I recently received this message from Misty
I am an intern at DCYF of Yakima and a senior in the social work program at Heritage University. As one of my senior projects, I am organizing a coat and cold weather items drive for foster children in the area.
In the middle of a pandemic, one of the things becoming almost non-existent is the ability to drop off gently used or new items for donations but with Misty's determined attitude she has secured an ongoing spot for you drop-off the pile you've set aside until go time.
Glacier Yogurt has stepped up and offered space for a constant drop-off during their business hours. Located at 4040 Terrace Heights Dr, Yakima, WA 98901 they are open Sunday-Thursday 11 am - 8 pm and Friday and Saturday from 11 am - 9 pm.
Need some ideas on just what cold-weather items include?
- Winter coats
- Scarves
- gloves
- snow boots
- warm socks
- chapstick
- long sleeve shirts
- sweatshirts
- sweatsuits
- hoodies
The foster children's coat and cold weather drive has already begun and will continue through Friday, October 30th, 2020.
Let's not only help Misty get a good grade but also make sure our Foster kids are properly clothed for this upcoming winter, shall we?
