Free Covid-19 Testing this Sunday, September 27th at Fiesta Foods
The weather is starting to turn and if you were planning on getting your flu shot, then this Sunday, September 27th in the parking lot of the Yakima Fiesta Foods between the hours of 1 pm - 6 pm you could not only get your flu shots but a new mask, register to vote, sign-up for the census and possibly get some free food too. All from the safety of your car. In the age of Covid-19, it doesn't get much better than that.
Now, if you have been experiencing symptoms or came in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 please also get yourself tested. Cristina, the organizer of this event, informed me they have take-home tests available if you are unable to make it out on Sunday. So say you are able to make it but Grandma can't come, completely understandable, let them know while you are driving through and if they still have some available bam, you can take one home to her.
A big thank you to those that are providing the space and supplies; the Latino Community Fund, Raíz, Yakima Health District, and Yakima Fiesta Foods
At the very least please help spread the word and tag anyone who you know is in need. I have noticed a few of my acquaintances have come down with Covid-19, all practice social distancing and wear masks however stuff happens. One described it as the same as her chronic sinus infections so at first, she thought it was just that. Another was extremely tired with a nose that was running like a faucet. When in doubt, test it out.
