Local Runner Embarks on 52.4 Mile Run for Michelle Morris Family
You might have seen Parker Jones spinning signs on our local street corners, greeting passing cars, and flashing a terrific dimpled smile but have you noticed he's gotten an awful lot smaller this past year?

Parker says it all began by going on daily walks, shedding over 100 pounds in the process and this past fall he began running. With this newfound energy and drive, he entered his first 40-mile ultra-marathon and dedicate the run to a local single mother and her 5-year-old daughter. Not only did he successfully complete his first ultra-marathon but with community help, raised enough funds to cover her rent and expenses for the rest of the year!
He reached out this morning to fill me in that tomorrow, Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 Parker Jones will again be running, this time a 52.4-mile ultra-marathon right here in Yakima for another family in need. He'll be up and at em beginning at 4 am so if you happen to see him make sure to give him a cheer and share the story, he'll be passing by our radio station in his three-mile loops up on 40th and Summitview.
Parker will be running for his neighbors, a family that has been a support to him since 1998
The Morris Family a three generation household who tragically lost there grandmother, great grandmother and their mom Michelle (50) to Covid-19
All in a span of a few months. Parker has created a GoFundMe page that has raised over $900 of the $10,000 goal.
Rest up ann good luck Parker and good luck!
Parker Jones
