Mr. Davis Had a Goal of $20,000 for Their 2020 CMN Campaign
I must say, last night was pretty flipping magical for many reasons. I hosted, so you know we had a blast -- and if you don't know, well you better show up to my next gig :) I also got to wear the letterman's jacket I earned when I went to Davis. (I'm about to age myself. I graduated from there 20 years ago, so I was over the moon to help out.)
Last night was the culmination of four months of hard work, long hours of practice, waking up early to support local community events, taking over restaurants and it was all for a good -- scratch that -- a GREAT cause, Children's Miracle Network. And we're not even finished.
Mr. Davis 2020
Davis, you absolutely crushed it last night. Here is the statement from Josh Munson, manager of CMN Hospitals & Corporate Partnerships
More than $20,198 was raised through the Mr. Davis YouthWorks Pageant for children’s health care programs and services at Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital (Central Washington’s CMN Hospital) and Yakima Children's Village - incredible! Congratulations to Mr. Davis 2020 Andrew Krueger, Mr. Congeniality Joseph Padron, and the Mr. Capitol YouthWorks Pageant contestant Kolby Arnold! #youthworks2020
If you weren't able to attend but would like to donate, the most wonderful thing happens. Your donation stays right here in the Yakima Valley.
Davis was representing local Yakima miracle child Aubrey Woodcock and it was my honor to introduce her family. Danielle, Aubrey's mom, and I have been good friends for a few years now and I know the struggle, love and patience this family has for their own and others in this community working with children who need extra care and attention.
If you have never attended one of these incredible shows, you have to! The teachers and students selected these seniors to represent and they went for it. The first section was all about what you wanted to be when you grow up, so each senior had a little with them either kicking soccer balls or hunting for dinosaurs, showing off runway skills and more.
Then came the talent portion of the night -- what an eclectic group. One was speed painting while others put on a magic show. Lots of talented musicians. Next, a heartfelt message to the person who has meant the most to them so far. We wrapped up our time with each contestant answering a question about life on the fly ... and they all nailed them.
The different restaurants in town that allowed takeovers this year were; Zesta Cucina, Provisions Restaurant + Market, Westside Pizza and Meadowbrook Family Fun Center! They were kind enough to let the seniors take over grabbing orders and raising funds for a great cause, start em young I say! ;)
Nothing would have happened with the back of the house, students at Davis, so a giant shout-out goes to the backstage crew, also the crowd because you were fantastic, the judges, sponsors, and YouthWorks Volunteers. Incredible of you to give back so much.
Imanol Badillo, Luis, Hernandez, Matthew Hernandez Raehyun Park, Brian Mendez, Jorge Mendoza, Daniel Montes, Kolby Arnold, Andrew Kruger, Joseph Padron, Coby Rodriquez ...
