FUN FACT: Did you know that the largest fleet of ferries in America is in Washington State?

Did you also know that there's now a giant Lego ferry replica on The Issaquah ship here in Washington. Whether you are a walk-on or take your car in the cargo hold, the experience of riding a ferry in Washington State is incomparable to any other ferry rides you will ever experience. You might even get emotional and cry.**

The Washington State Ferry Lego Replica

The Lego replica of the Issaquah ferry is over 2 feet tall and about seven feet wide. KIRO7 News recently shared that this Lego creation has been traveling all over the place and finally "landed" on its namesake ship.

A couple of years ago on a trip to visit friends living in Bremerton, my daughter Willow and I got to ride on a Washington ferry for the first time. The ride to Bremerton was a lot longer than I thought it would be, but I loved it so much and can't wait to go on another ferry route.

The Brains Behind the Issaquah Ferry Lego

The Issaquah Ferry Lego ship was handcrafted by the uniquely gifted Legomaster (and architect by trade), Wayne Hussey. He is well-known in certain circles for his huge Lego Batcave that he made for Emerald City Comicon several years ago with Carlyle Livingston II.

Hussey is also the brains behind the BrickCon event in Bellevue coming up this September, so if you want to see more amazing Lego creations, be sure to check that out.

How to See the Issaquah Ferry Lego Ferry in Person

Take the Fauntleroy route to Issaquah to see the Lego ferry with your own eyes. See the list of fares or calculate the cost of your ferry ride on the WSDOT site. (Kids 18 and under can ride for free on this route!)

**My only other ferry ride was in New York City; I was so moved to see the Statue of Liberty in the distance from my spot the ship, I nearly wept!
