When Will Election Results Start Coming in for WA and OR?

Some of the most searched for terms around the 2024 election include, "when will election results start coming in" and "who is winning the election."

While I'm definitely not a Nostradamus, I can definitely tell you that it's either gonna be Vice President Kamala D. Harris or former president Donald J. Trump, and that the race is going to be a close one. Just ask any TV poll analyst! 😂

WHAT TIME WILL ELECTION RESULTS START COMING IN?

The 2024 General Election polls close at 8 p.m. in Washington State and Oregon. We'll be seeing initial voting ballot tabulations start pouring in then.

Oregon allows both in-person voting and mail-in voting while Washington voters get to mail in their ballots and drop them off in person at either certified drop box locations or by voter harvesting.

Because these states tabulate all mail-in ballots that are post-marked by November 5th, there won't be a 100% tally of all votes by midnight tonight. We can, however, get a sense of which candidates are slated to win by that time.

Election results typically get called once a candidate reaches a majority threshold. In the event of a close tie or margin, a recount will be issued after all votes (including mail-in) are counted.
