As we're trying to move closer to getting out of Phase 1 and many are wearing masks in public place, you may forget your mask when you leave the house. Some just leave their mask dangling on their rearview mirror so they won't forget it. It makes sense, it really does, but it's also illegal.

According to Washington state law RCW 46.37.410:

(2) No person shall drive any motor vehicle with any sign, poster, or other nontransparent material upon the front windshield, side wings, or side or rear windows of such vehicle which obstructs the driver's clear view of the highway or any intersecting highway.

It's not a matter of distraction but more obstruction. According to this, dangling air fresheners shouldn't even be hanging from your mirror. Yes, it's a small little thing not bothering anybody but could be that one thing in the way of you not seeing something. Best to leave it in your cupholder or console or something.
