Don't B**** about it! Be about it.

The only way we are going to get ahead of the trash is if we do it together. This can be accomplished in many different ways. Tell the people you know LOVE getting out and doing this type of activity. Share the info on your social media pages and groups that are relevant. You could challenge your family or co-workers to commit to one clean-up a month or take some time on your off days to peruse the areas that need it most and report them.

Seriously if we all choose a lane that fits best with what we currently have going on, we can get ahead of this. The city of Yakima and every other place in the world has issues with trash...and more. I don't want to hear WHY you think the trash is there, I want to know what you are going to do about it. Report it or pick it up but please don't blame it on the homeless as you flick your cigarette butt out of the car. It sounds cheesy but we are ALL in this together. Suck it up buttercup and let's make a difference.

We have our trash warrior Katie Jelineck whose committed her free time to provide us with organized clean-ups each month. She has rangled sponsors, supplies and this month it's all about Valicoff Fruit!

If you are willing to spend some time with the crew, Valicoff Family Farm out in Wapato will put you in the very first Keep Yakima Clean Drawing for a $70 gift card to spend at Valicoff Family Farm. The winner will be drawn at the end of June 2021 and so on moving forward. The more clean-ups you do, the more entries you earn and the more chances you have to win something! You do a good thing and we all benefit!

When is the Next Keep Yakima Clean Event

Saturday, June 12th at 7 am. Katie and the crew will have gloves, vests, pokers, and bags for everyone. Make sure to friend the group for updates and reach out if you own a truck or would love to donate anything. It all helps.

Waiting for the second event directly with Keep Yakima Clean but in the mean time here's another opportunity to make a difference
