This Saturday, March 27th Keep Yakima Clean is scheduled for another round of pick-up that will begin at 10:30 am.

We will be parking at the visitor information center across from Target on Fair Avenue and will be working each direction going down the road to the freeway exit and entrance. This particular cleanup may not be ideal for young kid because of how close it is to the roadway. Please know that if you do bring your children that they are 100% your responsibility.

As time moves on, creator and organizer Katie has connected with amazing people from the community who have donated bags, gloves and vests, now there are even shirts and hats for sale to help with expenses with a fancy new logo and everything. Teamwork is truly making the dream work and if you are searching for volunteer hours, Safe Yakima Valley is happy to help provide the codes, just let Katie know and she will get you started.

Last weekends trash haul was over 1,000 pounds of junk. Definitely puts things in perspective next time you think of tossing something on the ground instead of throwing it away properly. We all can do our part and if you want to do even more, come on out and make sure to follow the Keep Yakima Clean Facebook page for the latest info.

It takes a village and the Keep Yakima Clean's crew is focused and ready for action. It's been suggested that children under 13 shouldn't attend as some of the items being picked up include paraphernalia like needles and more. Also please make sure to wear a mask and also good shoes for walking on uneven ground.
