One of my favorite things to eat on a cold winter's day is something called Udon (pronounced OOO-don). If you're a fan of real ramen, you'll love this. It's just like ramen, but the noodles are super-thick.

The broth is your standard beef soup stock broth and has some other usual ingredients for an asian soup including green onion and those little 'imitation crab' things. You can also opt for beef, chicken, shrimp, tempura or just about anything else. But it's all about the noodles and these things are huge!

If you happen to spot Udon on the menu, I suggest you give it a try. It'll make you re-think ramen as a whole.
