Shocking: Washington A Haven for Nudist Beaches & Resorts

According to Dictionary.com, NUDISM is:

the practice of going nude, especially in places that allow sexually mixed groups, in the belief that such practice benefits health.

Now, I guess I already knew what a NUDIST was, obviously, someone who practices NUDISM. What I wasn't aware of - and am now even shocked by - was the revelation that there are numerous NUDIST BEACHES or NUDIST CAMPS and RESORTS throughout the State of Washington and the Pacific Northwest. I've lived in the state all of my life - Yakima to Seattle - and I never knew any of these places existed.

Now, this article isn't intended to debate the issue of - Nudism: Good or Bad. Rather, since I was ignorant about it's prevalence in our region, I felt that maybe others were too and that perhaps it might be worthwhile to expose, er, reveal some of the options, should this be of interest to someone.

Here are a few of the places I was able to come across with a simple Google search. Normally, this wouldn't be a 'safe for work' topic to explore. But since this IS work, I should be okay. No close-up pictures here - just a few safe distance views - and contact information.

Tiger Mountain Family Nudist Park - 24050 SE 127th St, Issaquah, WA 98027

Lake Bronson Club Family Nudist Park - 33033 Cottontail Road, Sultan, WA

Arcadia Romantic Getaway - 141 SE James Rd, Shelton, WA 98584

Lake Associates Recreation Club - 21700 WA-9, Mt Vernon, WA 98274

Kaniksu Ranch - 4295 N Deer Lake Rd, Loon Lake, WA 99148

The list I compiled is much longer than the 5 places listed above, but, this gives you an idea. Many of these camps and resorts are members of nationally recognized nudist organizations such as AANR - American Association of Nude Recreation.

Before you decide to just show up, you'd best check them out first online and then with a phone call. Most will have you fill out an application for membership, do a background check and will provide all of the rules and particulars you'll need to be aware of.

Oh, and um, don't forget your sunscreen.
