Don’t Get Caught Unprepared: 7 Essentials for Washington Snow Storms

Is it me, or does it seem like big snow storms always happen on the weekends when we finally have time to go on a road trip? What's up with that?!

I always want to visit Seattle or take road trips on the weekends to Portland, but I hate driving over the snow-covered and icy passes. Weekends in Washington during the wintertime always seem to get big dumps of snow, and that's why I just stay home, eat, and Netflix + Chill with my bad self.

Which reminds me, I need to stop by the grocery store and stock up on a few essential things because I just checked the report on Weather.com and it looks like we might be getting our first big round of snow this weekend in Central Washington.

What's your go-to comfort food for a snow day? Noodles? Chili? Warm Bread? Hot Cocoa? Or what? Mine is a plate of pizza slices and a big bowl of chips.

I think we all should get what you need now before the official snow storms hit us. Let's comfortably brace the upcoming snowy weather together! Today is my payday and payday for me means time to hop in the car and do a little grocery shopping.

In addition to the grocery lists below of all the expected groceries you need plus the unexpected ones, make sure you have the following items handy:

• A Shovel 

• Snow tire chains or snow tires with studs if you'll be headed over the passes

• Fleece blankets (they'll help keep you and your pets extra warm when the temps drop below freezing)

• A generator or mini-power station in case the electricity goes out during a snow storm (and make sure it's charged all the way up!
