Heavy Rain and Winds in the Forecast — Safe Driving Reminders
It's getting to be about that time of year where rain and wind create some scary driving conditions. No matter what you drive or how your tires are, all it takes is a little bit from the elements to cause some serious damage. Washington State Patrol have a few reminders for what to do in these driving conditions.
A few wet weather driving tips include slowing down, turning off cruise control, driving with your headlines on in the daytime, leaving more room between cars and leaving with ample time to get to your destination so you're not racing against the clock.
Basic rule to remember, if you can't see the road under the water, don't risk it.
If you happen to hydroplane, ease off the gas and lightly pump the breaks. Don't slam on the breaks as that could be worse.
